Visit to The US Capitol
Before we went back to Indonesia, the YES students (around closely 400) had a visit to US Capitol in the middle of End-of-Year Orientation. It was on June 30th. And It was one of my dreams by the way, which is to go to some places that symbolize a country, US especially. US Capitol is a place when COngress has meetings.Jadi, ini merupakan Dewan Perwakilannya Amerika Serikat. Mungkin mirip kaya MPR dan DPR kalo di Indonesia kali ya. Bedanya adalah strukturnya. Jadi US Congress itu bentuknya bicameral atau dua rumah, upper house dan lower house. 1. Upper House (Senate) Adalah 2 orang perwakilan dari tiap state (50 states). 2. Lower House (The House of Representatives) Adalah sejumlah 400 berapa orang itu saya ga yakin (sory :)) Dan intinya kunjungan siswa YES ke sana adalah untuk bertemu para senate atau staffnya untuk membicarakan keberlangsungan YES program itu sendiri.
