Women Empowerment part#1: Warriors Revealed
Well actually that quotes is also brought by some world
famous figures, but in this article I’m not going to seek who’s behind this
quotes but rather be analyzing the impact and truth of that sayings.
Speaking about women empowerment, you might think about: gender
equality, women should be treated equal to man, women should rule the universe
too, it’s okay for woman to dress for whatever they want so it’s the men who
should control their self (and sight), men should stay in the house and do the
chores, there should be no difference in delegating jobs to men or women and to
the extreme level: MEN SHOULD GET PREGNANT, TOO. Now you’re staring at my blog,
okay stop it. Maybe it’s the feminist saying (what is feminist?). But this is
me trying to capture what society say about women empowerment, now it’s your time
to capture my perspective about women empowerment.
Nope. Nothing about women empowerment should be compared or
even related to men, at all. Men are great, and women are too, in their own way. So, to me, if we are talking about equality (get
to know the difference between equality and equity) it is pretty much applied
to education and employment. Apparently, both men and women are gifted by God
with different “specification”. They are equipped differently. It has been
always versus: logical and emotion, strong and soft, daddy and mommy, hulk and Barbie,
and so on. But trust me, it is more than that, it is not yes or no but rather a
range. Both men and women are unique although in some principle things they are
just different. God created men and women along with their role that cannot be replaced
by each other. Men could not get pregnant and women could not (could not what?
I think probably we have no ‘could not’ – just kidding ;) It is incomparable.
So, speaking about women empowerment to me it is not about equality (instead, I prefer 'equity') but it is
more about maximizing our potential. Women empowerment is not about what we can
take but more about what we can give because we are powerful and have a lot to give.
Ladies are gifted with many wonderful traits. Ladies have strong
emotions, beautiful physical portrait, multitasking capability, and more and
more so that the world can not live without us. So those are the gifts that we
possess. Sometimes women forget all of these gifts and they chase how to be
equal with men (education and employment are exception). Meanwhile if we strive
to keep growing and maximizing our potential, the world will welcome us and
thanks us for the home we build. Be so good in becoming a mom, be so good in
cooking, be so good in helping others.
I am inspired to write this because my religion put women in
such respectful degree. Women are already special without them trying to show
off their capability. Women are so special so they are strictly protected. I am
amazed of how Islam treat women. Physical beauty is important but I believe
that’s not what we want to be measured by. Women quality is more than just a
physical measurement, it is what in the heart and actions. Life is more than
just a competition but rather be a mission to help other together striving for
better afterlife.
Anyway, this article is my superficial explanation about my
perspective. It is just an opinion of a young lady but I believe it is powerful
enough to give a new insight about women empowerment. Let’s empower women not
because they lack of power, but because women sometimes forget their best potential.
Empower women to our best potential.
